We have relationships with 25 local authorities across England & Wales and are highly experienced in working with care homes to manage finances of residents in order that their fees get paid.
Our Court of Protection team is well versed in managing the assets of those who have lost mental capacity to make some decisions, showcased by having a Panel- Deputy and a Panel Guardian within the team.
For those in care homes, we understand the difficulties that can arise when residents have little to no support system or no family members willing or able to help manage their affairs once they move in. The trusted relationships we have with care homes enables us to act where required, as either an attorney or deputy, for the residents. This can include not only the sale of their home, payment of any debts and management of their assets to pay for the care home fees, but we can also manage any overseas assets and look after their bank accounts on a day to day basis.
For people who have lost capacity as a result of an accident, illness, injury or disability, our experienced professional deputies can step in to manage the day to day and long term financial affairs if no one else in their life can, or if a dispute has arisen.
The Court of Protection specialists at Slater Heelis come very highly recommended by those we work with, from clients with mental capacity who comment on the thoughtful and kind work we do, to local authorities and care homes for the personal, caring and sensitive approach we take with clients.
