If you’re an Indian citizen looking to live and work in the UK, the India Young Professionals Scheme visa could be your opportunity. However, before you can apply, you must first enter a ballot—and the first round is closing soon.
Here’s everything you need to know about the process.
Entering the Ballot
The first ballot for 2025 closes at 2:30 pm IST on 20 February 2025. You can enter at any time before the deadline, but you must ensure you meet the eligibility criteria.
When entering, you’ll need to provide:
✔️ Your full name and date of birth
✔️ Passport details, plus a scan or photo of your passport
✔️ Your phone number and email address
The ballot is free to enter, but you should only apply if you genuinely intend to proceed with the visa application. The visa itself costs £298 and comes with financial and educational requirements.
What Happens Next?
- Successful entries will be chosen at random and notified by email within two weeks of the ballot closing. If selected, you’ll have 90 days to submit your visa application, pay the necessary fees, and provide biometric data.
- Unsuccessful entries cannot appeal but may enter the second and final ballot in July 2025 if they still meet the eligibility criteria.
If you’re considering applying, now is the time to act. You can submit your application on the UK government website.
