Slater Heelis Solicitors has secured a debut ranking for its Employment team in the Chambers UK Guide 2027, alongside new individual recognitions and maintained rankings across a range of practice areas.

The results reflect the breadth of expertise across the firm, with five practice areas now ranked by Chambers and nine members of the team receiving new or elevated recognition for their work.

The Employment team’s debut Band 5 ranking is a particularly significant milestone, marking its first inclusion in the prestigious legal directory and which highlights the team’s growing profile in advising employers and employees on a wide range of workplace matters.

Rachel Fletcher, Managing Partner at Slater Heelis, has also received a new individual recognition as an Eminent Practitioner in Crime, having previously been ranked Band 2. Chambers use this term to recognise a highly influential lawyer in a particular practice area who, due to managerial or client relationship commitments, are less active in fee-earning work but remain key players in the team.

There are further individual successes for the firm, with Scott Sands making his debut at Band 3 for Corporate, while Carla Murray achieves a new Band 3 ranking for Information Technology.  Alex Barley has progressed from the Up-and-Coming category to a Band 3 ranking for Personal Injury, while Kaleel Anwar receives a new Up-and-Coming recognition for Family.

The firm has also maintained its established standing across several practice areas. Corporate/M&A, Crime and Family retain their Band 2 rankings, while Real Estate remains at Band 4.

Individual rankings have also been maintained for Simon Wallwork, who retains Band 1 for Corporate; Charlotte Beck, who remains Band 3 for Family; Kim Aucott, who retains Band 4 for Family; and Ken Salmon, who continues to be recognised as a Senior Statesperson for Construction & Engineering.

Rachel Fletcher, Managing Partner at Slater Heelis, said: “We are delighted to see the firm’s expertise recognised in the Chambers UK Guide 2027, particularly with the Employment team achieving its first ranking.

“Achieving a debut ranking is a significant milestone for the team and reflects the quality of advice and commitment they bring to clients. It is equally encouraging to see colleagues receiving new individual recognition, including Scott Sands and Carla Murray, and Alex Barley progressing to a Band 3 ranking and Kaleel Anwar achieving Up-and-Coming status for Family Law.

“Maintaining our existing rankings across Corporate/M&A, Crime, Family and Real Estate is also important. These results reflect the depth of talent across Slater Heelis and the consistent work our people deliver for clients. I would like to congratulate everyone recognised in this year’s guide and thank our teams for their continued dedication.”
