Slater Heelis has been shortlisted for both Mid-Size Law Firm of the Year as well as Deal of the Year (over £50m) at the Insider North West Dealmakers Awards, following a standout year for its Corporate Commercial team which has grown revenue by 10% year-on-year.
To achieve this, Slater Heelis has continued to invest in its presence across the region, remaining focused on supporting owner-managed businesses (OMBs), SMEs and their owners throughout their business journeys.
With more than 250 years of history in Manchester, the full-service firm has specialist expertise across the technology, creative and media sectors, supporting businesses from start-up through to exit. Its approach combines the expertise of a specialist commercial team with competitive fee structures and a focus on developing long-term relationships rather than purely transactional engagements.
The firm has also expanded its regional presence last year with the opening of a new office in Chester, strengthening its ability to support businesses across the North West, throughout England and into Wales.
Scott Sands, Partner and Head of the Corporate Commercial team at Slater Heelis, said: “To be named a finalist for Mid-Size Law Firm of the Year is a fantastic recognition of what our Corporate Commercial team has achieved over the past 12 months. Having our high net worth deals recognised as well for the sale of Interact Software to Castik Capital is the icing on the cake for our team.
“Completing more than 30 transactions is a significant achievement for a team of our size. What makes it particularly pleasing is that this growth has been delivered while maintaining the personal, partner-led service that is central to how we work with our clients.
“Our 10 per cent revenue growth demonstrates the strength and resilience of the team. We have a clear ambition to remain at the heart of the North West’s business community and to ensure that ambitious SMEs and owner-managed businesses continue to have access to high-quality specialist legal advice.
“Being shortlisted alongside some of the region’s leading firms is a great endorsement of that approach and we are looking forward to celebrating with our colleagues and fellow finalists at the awards.”
The Insider North West Dealmakers Awards recognise the individuals, teams and businesses driving dealmaking activity across the region. Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony in October 2026.
