As a law firm deeply rooted in the Sale community, we’ve always believed in celebrating diversity and promoting inclusion in the LGBTQ+ space. To be involved with this year’s festival means we can continue the fantastic work we achieved so far for our EDI initiatives.
This year’s Pride in Trafford Festival, an annual celebration of LGBTQ+ arts and artists, saw a stunning array of comedy, cabaret, theatre, and movement. From the 17th to 20th of May, the festival kicked off with a flag-raising ceremony on Waterside Plaza, marking The International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia.
At Slater Heelis, we’re not just sponsors – we’re proud supporters of the LGBTQ+ community. In fact, we’re delighted to say that we have 10 LGBTQ+ champions within our ranks, the highest in any organisation in the North West. Each of our champions has completed a comprehensive 20-hour training course and earned accreditation through an interactive online curriculum. This curriculum covers crucial topics, such as understanding LGBT-related language and legislation and identifying LGBTQ+ discrimination. This knowledge helps us to better serve our clients and deliver our LGBTQ+ legal services.

Thank you to everyone who visited our stall as part of Pride on the Plaza, where we saw lots of people adorned with rainbow glitter by our face painter. It was great to see so many people band together for love, equality, and inclusion in Trafford.
