Wills for War Heroes

Slater Heelis are proud to announce we are offering a free will writing service for local veterans to commemorate 100 years since Armistice Day.

Our team of dedicated will writing solicitors is throwing open its doors to war veterans from across the region and dedicating its will writing service to support ex-servicemen and women.

Starting on 26th November, “Wills for War Heroes” will see our specialist team of will writing solicitors be on hand throughout the week to help draft legal documents to safeguard veterans’ assets and other personal circumstances.

Six in ten adults living in the UK have not made a will, leaving their entire estate and finances at risk.

In exchange for our services, we are asking for a donation to Trafford Veterans, a local non-profit organisation run by ex-servicemen and women aimed at helping veterans with the transition back into civilian life.

Ashleigh Kelly, a Chartered Legal Executive in our wills team said:

“We are constantly reminded, year after year, of the grave sacrifices our local servicemen and women gave to support so many others.

“In this centenary year, we would like to say thank you to veterans across the region by offering our expert will writing services free of charge.”

As part of the centenary war commemorations, Mike Fox, senior partner at Slater Heelis, will be laying a wreath at the Sale cenotaph and staff volunteers will be handing out free tea, coffee and biscuits to the public attending the Remembrance Sunday ceremony outside of Sale Town Hall.

“It is also a reminder of how important drafting a will, especially in today’s era, can be. Many people across the region have finances, children and property with partners or spouses without a will in place, putting their assets and everything they cherish at risk.”
