Sale Named as the Fourth Most Desirable Place to Live in England

Sale, home of Slater Heelis, has been named as the fourth most desirable place to live in England in a study undertaken by the Centre for Economics and Business Research (CEBR) and Royal Mail. We can’t say we’re surprised, it is great here.

The research was taken from a range of different data sources, including the 2011 Census, Department for Communities and Local Government’s Indices of Multiple Deprivation, General land Use database and a wide array of data from the Office of National Statistics. Riding high in fourth place, Sale was also the only place from Greater Manchester to make their list.

What makes Sale so great?

Sale is absolutely brimming with large areas of green space and woodland with places such as Sale Water Park, Walton Park and Worthington Park being just a short distance away. Living in Sale means you’ll never be short of ways to entertain yourself, with everything from art exhibitions and theatres if you’re looking to take in a bit of culture, to golf courses for the more sport-inclined person and great restaurants for the foodies, Sale has a bit of everything.

Alongside that, you can be right in the heart of Manchester city centre for a spot of shopping in just 20 minutes or take in a football match or the cricket at Old Trafford in 10 minutes thanks to the brilliant Metrolink (which has three tram stops in the Sale area!).
