Manchester and Cheshire-based Slater Heelis LLP – one of the North West’s fastest growing law firms – has been recognised nationally by The Law Society, the independent professional body for the UK’s legal sector.
The recognition comes in the form of a nomination for this year’s Law Society Excellence Awards and impressive ranking in the Society’s Diversity and Inclusion Charter – designed to help practices turn their commitment to diversity and inclusion into positive, practical action for their businesses, staff and clients.
Over a third of the UK’s private practice solicitors have signed up to the Charter, and Slater Heelis ranked gold in six out of eight standards measured, including leadership, engagement and development.
Chris Partington, partner and head of the private client department at the firm, has also been shortlisted for Private Client Solicitor of the Year at the Society’s Excellence Awards – one of only 10 lawyers to be shortlisted nationwide.
The awards ceremony will take place on 22 October 2015 at London’s Hilton Park Lane.
Chris said: “I’m thrilled to have been shortlisted for such a well-recognised national award. In my role, I am able to make a real difference to the lives of underrepresented people and it’s an honor for this to be acknowledged.”
Earlier this year, Chris was handed a prestigious appointment to join the panel of Court of Protection Deputies by the Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) following a rigorous selection process.
The position as one of only 60 appointed Deputies in the UK serves as recognition of his continued and valuable work in the private client – and specifically Court of Protection – sector, together with his handpicked Court of Protection team at Slater Heelis.
He added: “The team at Slater Heelis has provided exceptional service to our clients for many years. This nomination and ranking further demonstrates the firm’s talent in this form of conflict resolution and legal support and cements our reputation as the go-to firm for private client matters in the Manchester area.”
