In Conversation With… David and Alex Russell, October 4th 2016

October 7, 2016, By Slater Heelis

Thank you to everyone who joined Slater Heelis for another fantastic ‘In Conversation With’ – our ongoing seminar series where significant Manchester figures are grilled on what makes them tick.

The latest figures in the hot seat were David and Alex Russell, the CEO and MD of Property Alliance Group, one of the most prolific and ambitious property developers in the North West.

Chris Maguire, editor of Business Cloud, talked to David Russell through his remarkable career, starting as a carpet salesman in Rochdale and growing and selling five businesses.

His latest projects through Property Alliance Group include the skyline-transforming Axis Tower, a new neighbor for Beetham Tower in the Deansgate-Castlefield area, and Oxygen Tower in Piccadilly, standing at 31 stories.

Alliance’s portfolio now stands at £190million.

David’s son Alex spoke of his beginnings on the Go-Kart racing circuit, before turning his hand to property development. His vision included developing high-spec, flexible working spaces across the city and growing business parks similar to the Trident project at Manchester Airport.

The conversation ended with a discussion of ‘legacy’ – how David wants to leave his stamp on the city. He supports the City of Trees movement, helping to introduce more green spaces into the city.

The event, hosted at HOME on First Street, proved to make an entertaining and insightful morning.

Thank you to David, Alex, Chris and everyone who attended.

Keep your eyes peeled for the next ‘In Conversation With’ seminar in the Spring.
