Introduction of National Living Wage from April 2016

Workers and employers are reminded that the National Living Wage (NLW) becomes law from the 01st of April 2016.

The introduction of the NLW means that if you are a worker and aged 25 or over (and not in the first year of an apprenticeship), then you are legally entitled to be paid at least £7.20 per hour. Employers will need to ensure that they pay eligible staff the NLW from April 2016, as the Government has warned that they will enforce the NLW as strongly as the National Minimum Wage.
