Tracey qualified as a solicitor in 1999 and has specialised in employment law throughout her career, for more than 19 years. After completing her law degree, Tracey attended Chester Law School where she was awarded a Distinction in the Legal Practice Course. She joined Slater Heelis in November 2009 as Partner and Head of the Employment department, having previously worked at various city centre law firms.
Tracey’s work focuses on providing clear, practical advice on all aspects of employment law. She deals regularly with complex employment law queries about TUPE, large scale redundancy exercises, restrictive covenants / injunctive proceedings and executive terminations. Tracey also deals with tribunal work, handling unfair dismissal and discrimination claims. She also regularly provides advice in relation to disciplinary and grievance procedures, settlement agreements, family friendly rights and drafts documentation for a wide range of clients.
Tracey also works closely with our corporate team, providing commercial advice in relation to corporate transactions.
Tracey is a regular speaker at seminars and provides client training at their premises on a variety of employment-related topics. She is frequently quoted in the press and is the featured expert for workingmums.co.uk facing-a-restructure-on-maternity-leave-and-in-a-job-share-ask-the-expert/ providing regular advice on employment matters affecting mothers in the workplace.
