Slater Heelis supports Good Divorce Week

November 27, 2020, By Slater Heelis

Good Divorce Week is an annual campaign organised by Resolution, a community of family law professionals committed to resolving family law issues in a non-confrontational and constructive way especially when there are children involved.

Members of Resolution believe that the process of separating, resolving financial issues and arranging childcare should be done in a way that minimises conflict and keeps the best interests of the children at the heart of proceedings.

At Slater Heelis, all of our lawyers are members of Resolution and follow and uphold the Code of Practice in the best interests of our clients and their families.

More people researching family law services

In the period from 23 October to 23 November 2020, our own website saw a 17% increase in family law searches in contrast with the same time period last year.

We know all too well that the first lockdown put a considerable amount of strain upon couples and families, and having now been through a second one with other tier restrictions continuing to be in place, any cracks which had started to show may have been brought even closer to the surface.

Whilst every relationship is different, we understand that sometimes, it can just be a case of couples drifting apart and no longer wanting to be together. In other circumstances, it can be a more complex situation.

As reliable, trusted family law experts, we want to encourage a calm and amicable approach to the separation wherever possible. We respect the values of Resolution and incorporate them in our day to day work with clients. Patricia Robinson, a Partner in our Family team, is the Chair of Resolution Manchester, so it is evident that the Code of Practice that Resolution champions is embedded in us.

Free 30 minute consultations

This week-long Good Divorce Week campaign runs from Monday 30 November to Friday 4 December. During the week, our legal professionals, some of whom are Resolution accredited specialists, will be offering free 30 minute consultations.

We are promoting the benefits of early legal advice and will outline the best approach for your situation whilst taking into account the best interests of any children involved.
